A 46 year old female presented with a C5/6 disc herniation.  Dr. Pashman used the Prestige Disc.

    Case Review:

    Prestige Artificial Disc at C5/6

    Patient History:

    46 yr old female
    Presented with neck pain and numbness in both hands.
    C5/6 disc herniation, spinal cord effacement
    Neuroforaminal stenosis, myeloradiculopathy, degenerative disc disease

    Indications for Surgery:

    Degeneration at C6/7
    C5/6 Disc Herniation
    Myeloradiculopathy
    Gliosis in spinal cord with significant narrowing
    Failed conservative therapy

    Surgical Strategy:

    Radical Discectomy C5/6 with removal of disc herniation
    Subtotal vertebrectomy
    Prestige Artificial Disc Replacement at C5/6
    Intraoperative somatosensory evoked potentials.
    Intraoperative fluoroscopy.

    Pre-Op/Post-op Comparison: 

    The patient’s natural cervical lordosis has been restored.   The patient is doing well post-operatively.
